Assembly Election 2024: Congress does not want to leave any stone unturned in preparing for the assembly elections to be held this year. For which the Congress high command has announced important appointments related to the war room for the electoral states. In a meeting held at the headquarters in Delhi, the party took many important decisions on Saturday (August 17) under the chairmanship of National President Mallikarjun Kharge.
Congress Party General Secretary KC Venugopal said that the Congress Party chaired by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has approved the revised proposal for the appointment of War Room Chairmen in Maharashtra, Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir for the upcoming Assembly elections with immediate effect.
Know who all are included in this war room of Congress?
The command of Haryana War Room has been given to Naveen Sharma. Naveen Sharma of Delhi 2024 Lok Sabha Elections Along with this, he has played an important role in the Congress party’s war room formed for the Karnataka, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Assam, Gujarat assembly elections. Apart from this, the Congress high command has appointed Congress national secretary Vamshi Reddy as the head of the Maharashtra war room. Telangana’s young leader Vamshi is considered close to the Congress leadership. Whereas, the responsibility of the Jammu Kashmir war room has been given to Gokul Butel of Himachal Pradesh.
Congress formed media panel for Haryana and Jammu Kashmir
Actually, the war room plays a very important role in the conduct and management of elections. A day before, Congress had announced media teams for Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir. Sharp spokesperson Alok Sharma has been appointed as the national media coordinator for Haryana, MLA Qazi Nizamuddin from Uttarakhand for Kashmir and Amitabh Dubey for Jammu.
When are the elections in Jammu-Kashmir and Haryana?
The Election Commission on Friday (August 16) announced the dates for the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana. Elections will be held in three phases in Jammu and Kashmir. While elections will be held in Haryana in a single phase. The results of the votes cast for both the states will be declared on October 4. With the announcement of elections, the model code of conduct has also come into force in both the states.
