Punjab News: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said on Sunday that his next target is to provide Rs 1,100 every month to women. Bhagwant Mann said this while campaigning for Aam Aadmi Party candidate Ishank Chabbewal for the by-election to be held on November 13 in Chabbewal constituency of Hoshiarpur district. Noting the presence of a large number of women in the meeting in Chabbewal, the Chief Minister said that mothers and sisters come to the Aam Aadmi Party rallies only because they know that the AAP government takes care of their needs.
Women will get Rs 1100 every month
CM Mann further said that his next target is to provide Rs 1,100 every month to women. AAP had promised that if it came to power, every woman would be given Rs 1,000 per month. In May this year, Mann had said that his government would give Rs 1,100 to women instead of Rs 1,000. During the rally in Chabbewal, the Chief Minister praised Ishank and said that he is a young candidate who understands the local issues. He said make Ishank win and whatever work he brings to me, I will immediately approve it. Ishank is the son of AAP’s Hoshiarpur MP Raj Kumar Chabbewal.
CM attacked Congress-SAD
On this occasion, the Chief Minister launched a scathing attack on both Congress and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD). Attacking the Congress, Mann said that they fight for power, while we fight for a better future for your children. He said that we have provided free electricity to the people of Punjab and are building good schools and hospitals. He said, ‘To reduce deaths on roads, we formed ‘Road Safety Force’ and provided them with modern vehicles. As a result, deaths have decreased by 45 percent in the last six months. Apart from this, we have provided more than 45,000 jobs to the youth in the last two and a half years.
‘We are there to serve the people’
He said that the AAP government has been able to achieve so many achievements in Delhi and Punjab only because of the clear intentions of the party and its convenor Arvind Kejriwal. He said, ‘Therefore, like Delhi, we have opened Aam Aadmi Clinics and excellent schools here too. We are here to serve the people. Taking aim at the Akali Dal, Mann said that those who claimed that they would rule for 25 years have now not been able to find even four candidates to contest by-elections on four seats – Gidderbaha, Dera Baba Nanak, Chabbewal and Barnala. .
Akali Dal will not contest by-elections
Let us tell you that Shiromani Akali Dal had said on Thursday that it will not field candidates in the assembly by-elections to be held on November 13 for four seats. This development happened when SAD chief Sukhbir Singh Badal could not get any temporary relief from Akal Takht. The Akal Takht has declared him ‘tankhaiya’ (religious misconduct) for the mistakes committed by his party and government from 2007 to 2017. However, Mann said that Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh has not stopped the Akali Dal from contesting the by-elections and this restriction is only on the Akali Dal chief.
The Chief Minister said, ‘Akali Dal members are calling Sukhbir Badal ‘Jarnail’, but he should tell which battle he has fought. He has only spread anarchy and caused harm to both Punjab and Akali Dal. If Akali Dal had contested the elections without Sukhbir Badal, they would have got even more votes.
