Bihar: Will Rahul Gandhi enter the encounter case? Congress leader said- ‘Bharat Tiwari was brave’

Political activities are continuously intensifying in the case of Bharat Bhushan Tiwari, who was killed in a police encounter in Biloti village of Bhojpur. On Saturday (June 27, 2026), Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee President and former minister Ajay Rai reached Biloti village to meet the victim’s family. He met the family members of Bharat Tiwari and expressed his condolences and assured to stand with the Congress party in the fight for justice.

On reaching Biloti, Ajay Rai first met Bharat Tiwari’s mother Asha Devi. He saluted him and said that his son Bharat Tiwari was brave. Congress will stand with the family until justice is provided. After this he also talked to his father and other family members.

During this, Bharat’s younger brother Chandan Tiwari, while giving information about the entire incident, alleged that the family is constantly being given pressure and threats from the police administration. After listening to the family members, Ajay Rai said that the Congress party has always been fighting against injustice and in this case too, it will fight at every level to get justice for the family. He said that wherever there is injustice, Congress will raise its voice there and will not back down in Bharat Tiwari’s case also.

The matter will be conveyed to Rahul Gandhi

Mahapanchayat convenor Pankaj Tripathi requested Ajay Rai that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi should also come to Biloti village and meet the victim’s family. On this, Ajay Rai assured that he will talk to Rahul Gandhi in this regard and urge him to come here.

Ajay Rai also provided financial assistance to the victim’s family and assured all possible cooperation in future. Many Congress leaders and workers including former Buxar MLA Sanjay Tiwari alias Munna Tiwari were present with him.

‘Wherever there is BJP government, there is jungle raj’

While talking to the media, Ajay Rai made a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party governments. He alleged that wherever there is BJP government, a situation like “Jungle Raj” is prevailing. He said that if any attempt is made to harm any member of Bharat Tiwari’s family, the Congress party will protest in the entire country.

Ajay Rai said that Bharat Tiwari was raising his voice against the system and fighting for the poor. He also alleged that people of Brahmin community are being targeted in BJP ruled states. Referring to an old encounter in Uttar Pradesh, he said that Bharat Tiwari’s incident also happened in a planned manner. However, these are his political allegations and have not been independently verified.

Ajay Rai raised questions on the investigation of Bharat Tiwari’s death and said that if the number of bullet injuries in the post-mortem report is different from the police claim, then the entire matter should be investigated impartially. He demanded that a case of murder should be registered against the guilty policemen involved in the incident and they should be immediately arrested and strict action should be taken as per law.
