Candidates of all political parties lost in Punjab University, Anurag Dalal became the student union president

Punjab University Election Result 2024: Student union elections were held in Punjab University on Thursday. Independent candidate Anurag Dalal won and was elected as the president of PU’s student union. Prince Chaudhary of Aam Aadmi Party’s student wing (CYSS) came second. Anurag Dalal got 3434 votes and Prince Chaudhary got 3129 votes. Amrita Malik of ABVP came third with 1114 votes. Apart from this, the NSUI candidate got only 497 votes. Overall, no candidate of any political party got success.

What did Anurag Dalal say after the victory?
After being elected as the president of PU student union, independent candidate Anurag Dalal has also reacted. He said that he has no connection with any political family. His parents are teachers and his brother is a doctor. He himself is a PhD scholar. He is a resident of Lakhan village in Rohtak district of Haryana.

Anurag Dalal said that he will always stand for the rights of the students. The council will run with everyone’s support. He said that he has no intention of joining any party right now. Anurag Dalal thanked Sikandar Bhura who left the post of NSUI Chandigarh President and said that the promises he had made will now be fulfilled.

Archit Garg became the vice president
NSUI’s Archit Garg was elected vice president, he won with 3631 votes. Apart from this, INSO’s Vineet Yadav got 3298 votes and was elected secretary. ABVP’s Jaswinder Rana won the post of joint secretary with 3489 votes.

Blessy Chawla becomes principal of Khalsa College
Blessy Chawla won in Khalsa College Women. Apart from this, Mehak was elected Vice President, Prabhjot Kaur General Secretary and Khushi Joint Secretary. Whereas in Guru Gobind Singh Women College, all the four candidates were elected unopposed. Earlier last year also the entire panel had won unopposed.
