Hemant Soren Attacks BJP and RSS: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Wednesday compared the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) to “rats” and accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the RSS of trying to disturb communal harmony in the state for electoral gains. Addressing a public meeting at Bhognadih in Sahibganj district, Soren claimed that the BJP was sowing seeds of hatred between the Hindu and Muslim communities.
He particularly underlined the involvement of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in this. Addressing the Bhognadih public meeting online from Ranchi, Soren said, “The RSS is ruining the state by infiltrating it like rats. When you see them entering the villages with ‘Handiya’ and ‘Daru’, chase them away… They want to create communal unrest and tension for political gain before the elections.”
BJP was described as the party of businessmen and industrialists
Soren alleged that the BJP is hell-bent on promoting hatred between communities. He feared an increase in provocative incidents like throwing meat in temples and mosques. Soren termed the BJP as a party of businessmen and industrialists. He alleged that it is buying political leaders for its agenda. His clear reference was to the recent joining of the BJP by former Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren.
Tribals are facing atrocities
Champai had joined the BJP accusing the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) of ‘not respecting and insulting’ him. The Chief Minister also rejected the BJP’s allegations of changing the demography of Jharkhand. He advised critics that they should look at the demography of neighboring West Bengal. Soren questioned the presence of the Assam Chief Minister in Jharkhand at a time when tribals are facing many atrocities in his own state.
