Haryana Assembly Elections 2024: Before the assembly elections in Haryana, Congress has expelled two more leaders contesting as independents from the party. The party has expelled Virendra Gogria, who is contesting as an independent candidate from Uchana Kalan, and Somveer Ghasola, an independent candidate from Badhra Assembly, from the party for 6 years.
Earlier on Friday, the Haryana unit of Congress had expelled 13 party leaders on charges of “anti-party activities”. In fact, these leaders had also decided to contest the state assembly elections as independents against the candidate officially selected by the party. Congress said that to curb indiscipline in the party, he is being expelled for six years with immediate effect.

Many leaders were angry over the party not getting tickets for the assembly elections to be held on October 5 in Haryana, but later the party was successful in allaying the resentment of many of them. Senior Congress leader and former minister Sampat Singh withdrew his nomination from Nalwa seat after filing nomination papers, while another leader Ram Kishan ‘Fauji’ also withdrew his name from Bawani Kheda seat.
Action has also been taken against Chitra Sarwara
Former MLA Jasbir Malaur, who was contesting against Congress candidate and former minister Nirmal Singh from Ambala City, has also withdrawn his name. However, Nirmal Singh’s daughter Chitra Sarwara is contesting from Ambala Cantt seat. The party has already taken action against rebel leader Sarwara.
