According to the report of Indian Express, in April 2023, he received the Guinness World Records certificate. He told that he got the idea of ​​this unique record in the midst of the Corona epidemic. But he did this when the metro was opened to the public after the lockdown. The purpose of doing this by them was to make Delhi Metro look the best in the world.
He explained that the journey to set the record was not just limited to traveling from one station to another, but they also had to follow the strict guidelines laid down by Guinness World Records. Under this, he had to take photographs at every station, ask people to sign receipts and keep witnesses with him during the entire journey.
Completed the journey in 15 hours 22 minutes
To prove his record, Shashank Manu recorded the video at the time of opening and closing of the metro doors at every station. He started his journey from Blue Line and ended at Brig Hoshiar Singh station on Green Line. He took three short breaks during his journey, including a lunch break at the crowded Kashmere Gate station.
He used the One Day Tourist Card, in which he got unlimited travel for a day. Due to a misunderstanding, this record was given to Praful Singh, a Metro official. Praful Singh covered all the metro stations on August 29, 2021 in 16 hours 2 minutes. Whereas Shashank Manu achieved this feat on 14 April 2021 in 15 hours 22 minutes 49 seconds.
