Dawood Ibrahim’s henchman was hiding in the streets of Dongri! Police laid such a trap, got arrested

Danish Chicna Arrested: Gangster Dawood Ibrahim associate Danish Merchant alias Danish Chikna was arrested in a drugs case on Friday (December 13, 2024). Danish Merchant manages Dawood’s drug operations in Dongri area. Danish was arrested along with his associate Kader Ghulam Shaikh.

According to Mumbai Police sources, NDTV has told that Danish Merchant was a wanted accused in the drug case. His arrest follows a months-long investigation, which began with the arrest of Mohammad Ashikur Sahidur Rehman and Rehan Shakeel Ansari last month.

The series of arrests started from November 8, when Mohammad Ashikur Sahidur Rahman was caught with 144 grams of drugs near Marine Lines Station. During interrogation, Rehman told that the drugs were purchased from Ansari in Dongri. Based on this information, the police arrested Ansari and seized an additional 55 grams of the drug. Ansari also told that the drugs were supplied by Danish Merchant and his associate Kadir Fanta.

Danish merchant and Kadir Fanta arrested

The police were searching for Merchant and Fanta for the last few weeks. Following a tip-off, police tracked down the two suspects in Dongri area on 13 December. He was arrested as part of a planned operation. During interrogation, both of them confessed to their involvement in the drug racket.

Drug factory busted in 2019

In 2019, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) busted Dawood’s drug factory in Dongri and seized narcotics worth crores of rupees. At that time, Merchant was arrested in Rajasthan and had recently been released from jail.
