Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Senior BJP leader and former Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said on Tuesday (June 13) that there has been no discussion at the state level regarding the electoral tie-up with the JD(S) for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He said that it is difficult to predict in politics.
On the other hand, on the question of Congress uniting other parties to form an alliance, he said, “Such things are happening in the press, we are keeping an eye. After the results of the assembly elections, such reports in a section of the media It was also said that JDS leader and former chief minister HD Kumaraswamy had met some senior BJP leaders during his recent visit to New Delhi.”

Earlier, former Karnataka Chief Minister and JDS leader HD Kumaraswamy had issued a statement on Monday (June 12) regarding the alliance with the BJP. He had said, “The decision on the electoral agreement for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections will be taken when the time comes. The party currently has no proposal for parliamentary elections.”
‘It is natural for speculation to emerge before elections’
Asked about speculations about a possible alliance between the BJP and JDS and their contesting the elections, the former chief minister said, “In politics, it is natural for many things and speculations to emerge, be it rumors or any amount of reality in it.” Yes, but these questions can be answered only when the election process begins.”
The BJP won 25 of the total 28 seats in the state in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections in Karnataka, while one seat was won by an independent. Congress and JDS had won one seat each.
