Kangana Ranaut MP Market: A petition challenging the Lok Sabha elections held in Mandi parliamentary constituency in the year 2024 was heard in the High Court. The matter was heard by a single bench of Justice Jyotsna Rewal Dua. After the petition was filed, the Himachal Pradesh High Court had asked Kangana Ranaut to file a reply in the matter on August 21. When the matter was heard today, Kangana Ranaut’s lawyer sought three weeks’ time to prepare the reply. Now the next hearing in this case will be held after three weeks.

Advocate Sanjeev Kumar appeared on behalf of the plaintiff Layak Ram Negi in the Himachal Pradesh High Court, while Arjun Lal and Akash Thakur appeared on behalf of the defendant Kangana Ranaut along with Anshul Bansal and senior advocate Ankush Das. During the hearing, the plaintiff also sought three weeks’ time to file the power of attorney along with the reply. The next hearing in the case will now be held in the month of September.

Let us tell you that the applicant Layak Ram Negi has demanded the cancellation of the Lok Sabha election for Mandi seat, alleging that his nomination papers were rejected wrongly. According to the applicant Layak Ram, he could not contest the Lok Sabha election due to rejection of his nomination.
According to the applicant, this was not a big mistake due to which his nomination would be rejected. The applicant says that if he was given a chance to contest the election, he would have probably won the Lok Sabha election. The applicant has requested to cancel the Lok Sabha election held for Mandi seat, so that the election for this seat can be held again. The applicant Layak Ram has retired from the Forest Department. On retirement, he submitted the necessary No Due Certificate issued by the Forest Department along with the nomination form to the Election Officer.

During the nomination, the applicant was told that he would have to provide no due certificates for electricity, water and telephone issued by the concerned departments for the government accommodation. Time was given till the next day to provide all these certificates. The nomination papers were to be scrutinized on May 15. The next day he refused to take these certificates.
