Heavy rains starting again from tomorrow, schools and colleges closed in these four states

Weather Tomorrow: While the weather started getting cold, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy rain in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Puducherry and Tamil Nadu for the next four days. Schools and colleges were supposed to reopen after the Dussehra festival holidays, but due to seasonal conditions, it has been decided to keep them closed again. Keeping security in mind, state governments have advised people to stay at home and avoid unnecessary trips.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu issued important instructions to the officials. He talked to collectors, ministers and officials through video conferencing and directed that alert messages regarding rain should be sent to people’s mobile phones. Not only this, he talked about paying attention to the safety of embankments of ponds and canals and installing necessary warning boards near rivers and canals. To avoid any kind of loss, instructions were issued to the officials to set up a control room for immediate action. It was also said that if necessary, holidays will be declared in schools and colleges also.

Work from home advice to IT companies

A red alert has also been issued in Tamil Nadu regarding heavy rains till October 16. School holidays have been declared in Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram and Chengalpattu due to rain. Not only schools but the Chief Minister asked officials to issue work-from-home advisory to employees of IT companies in Chennai, Thiruvananthapuram, Kancheepuram and Changalpattu districts. IMD warns that people should stay at home and not go to flood affected areas. The administration has activated emergency services in all the districts and also issued instructions to be prepared for relief operations.

Yellow alert in Puducherry

In Telangana too, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning for the next two to four days. Today, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in Adilabad, Karimnagar, Khammam, Medak, Nizamabad, Mahabubnagar, Nalgonda, Ranga Reddy, Hyderabad and Mulugu districts. The weather department has issued a yellow alert there. In Puducherry, Education Minister A Nammasivayam has given instructions to keep government schools, government-aided schools, private schools and all colleges closed in Puducherry and Karaikal on October 15 due to the warning of heavy rain.
