Siddaramaiah Cabinet Meeting Decision: The Siddaramaiah government of Karnataka took several major decisions on Thursday (June 15). In the Karnataka cabinet meeting, it was decided to repeal the Anti-Conversion Law brought during the BJP rule. Along with this, the decision to exclude the chapter related to KB Hedgewar from the syllabus of Karnataka was also approved.
Karnataka Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa said that the Karnataka cabinet has decided to remove chapters related to RSS founder KB Hedgewar and others in school textbooks. Whatever changes they (the previous government) had made last year, we have changed it.
Anti-conversion law repealed in Karnataka
Karnataka cabinet minister HK Patil said that the Karnataka cabinet has decided to repeal the anti-conversion law brought by the previous BJP government. The state cabinet has decided to make it mandatory to read the Preamble of the Constitution with prayer in schools and colleges.
He informed that the Karnataka cabinet has also decided to amend the APMC Act in the state to bring back the old law. Today, the revision of textbooks was also discussed in the cabinet meeting.
BJP launched a scathing attack
Sharp remarks have been made by the BJP on the decision taken by the Siddaramaiah government on religious conversion. Former Education Minister of Karnataka and BJP leader BC Nagesh said that they (Congress) want votes of Muslims, Siddaramaiah’s government is against Hindus. They can reintroduce the hijab. They want to attract minority votes and want to politicize everything.
