Sambhal News: Chandrashekhar Azad, Lok Sabha MP from Nagina in Uttar Pradesh and leader of Azad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram) has made objectionable claims about the judges of the Supreme Court. Chandrashekhar Azad made a big comment citing a decision of the Division Bench led by former Chief Justice of India Dhananjay Yashwant Chandrachud.
In an exclusive conversation with ABP News, in the context of the cases of Sambhal and Ajmer, Chandrashekhar said whether this right is available only to people of one religion or to all religions. If people who believe in other religions. In Jainism or Buddhism… the fire was set by our Supreme Court judges and who set it? They are warming their hands by setting this fire, isn’t the country seeing this?
Actually, MP Azad was reacting to the decision of a three-judge bench led by the then Supreme Court judge DY Chandrachud regarding the Worship Act 1991. In the year 2022, the bench of former Justice Chandrachud had said that if the reality of a place has to be found out, then the 1991 law does not come in the way.
Regarding Sambhal, Chandrashekhar said that the matter should be investigated. Let us find out whose fault it is. Look at the WhatsApp chats and phone calls of the officials and the reality will come out.
What did the court say regarding the 1991 law?
In May 2022, the Supreme Court had said that ‘although changing the nature of a religious place is prohibited under the 1991 law, ascertaining the religious character of a place as a procedural means violates Sections 3 and 4 of the law. Can’t be.’ A bench of Justice DY Chandrachud, Justice Surya Kant and Justice PS Narasimha made this comment during an hour-long hearing of the Gyanvapi Masjid controversy on May 20, 2022.
The Supreme Court was hearing the petition of Anjuman Intejamia Mosque Management Committee in May 2022. This committee looks after the management of Gyanvapi Masjid in Varanasi. In this petition, the order of the Allahabad High Court was challenged in which it had refused to interfere in the order of the Civil Court to appoint a Court Commissioner to survey the mosque area.
