Delhi Metro News: Delhi News: Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has implemented QR code based ticketing system in Metro from Monday. Now people will be able to travel in metro through paper ticket instead of token. A QR code will be printed on the ticket issued by Delhi Metro, through which you can enter from the metro gate.
Delhi Metro Management has upgraded two Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) gates each for entry and exit at all metro stations to make the paper ticketing system effective. From this gate, passengers can now travel in the metro by taking tickets instead of tokens. With the introduction of paper tickets, the practice of plastic tokens in the Metro will stop in the next few months. According to the information released by Metro, by the end of this month, the facility of paying fare through mobile through QR code will also start. That is, now metros will have the facility of QR code payment in addition to smart cards, National Common Mobility Card (NCMC), smart phones.
Why entry is necessary within 1 hour?
Passengers have to take care of one thing in the paper ticket system. Keeping this in mind, the passengers may suffer financial losses. Passengers have to note that they will have to enter the station within one hour of purchasing the QR code based paper ticket. If anyone enters the station late by more than 60 minutes, the ticket will be invalid. In such a situation, the passenger will neither be able to enter the station nor will he get any kind of refund.
Metro management will have to cross cleanly
It should also be mentioned here that DMRC has taken the decision to start paper tickets instead of tokens with the aim of reducing the cost of buying plastic tokens. On the other hand, due to paper ticket, the problem of cleanliness can arise at the stations. Actually, 25 lakh passengers travel daily in Delhi Metro. Of these, 30 percent passengers use tokens. That is, seven and a half lakh passengers will use paper tickets every day. To overcome this problem, dustbins have been arranged at metro stations. Passengers can save DMRC from this problem by putting tickets in the dustbin near the exit AFC gate.
