Bharat Taxi Launch: Today i.e. 27th June, the country’s first cooperative model based taxi service ‘Bharat Taxi’ is going to be launched in Gujarat. This service was launched by the Union Home and Cooperation Minister. Amit Shah do. Bharat Taxi was soft-launched in Gujarat in December 2025. The government believes that this model has been done to make taxi drivers financially strong.

How will Bharat Taxi work?

Bharat Taxi is the first ride-hailing service in the country in which taxi drivers will be its owners and partners. However, this platform will work on cooperative model. It has been prepared by Sahakar Taxi Cooperative Limited with the help of major cooperative institutions of the country like NCDC, Amul, NAFED, IFFCO, NABARD and other institutions. Its purpose is to make the driver a partner in the company.
