What is the guess about onion, a vegetable used daily in homes?
In September, continuous upward pressure was seen in the prices of edible oil and vegetables and the effect of reduced arrival of vegetables in the mandis was seen in the form of increase in their prices. The thing to keep in mind is that now that tomato prices are coming down, there will be upward price pressure on onion prices which is expected to continue throughout November.
Inflow of vegetables increased in winter
The arrival of vegetables increases in winter and such a trend is also visible in the markets. The prices of vegetables like Spinach, Cabbage, Fenugreek, Bathua are in the initial phase and hence they are looking a bit high but they are expected to decrease this week because the supply is going on in abundance and they are expected to be sold in abundance as per the demand. However, onion is expected to remain expensive because its fresh supply will take time to arrive.
