The permanent coach will be announced after the Champions Trophy, which will run from February 19 to March 9. This post had become vacant after the sudden resignation of Gary Kirsten, due to which the board had to take this temporary step. Apart from this, there was also news that PCB had offered Jason Gillespie to be the coach of the white ball team till Champions Trophy 2025. But Gillespie declined this responsibility saying that there was no increase in his current salary.
Jason Gillespie returns
The team’s red-ball coach Jason Gillespie, who recently led the team on the tour of Australia, will now reprise his role for the upcoming two-Test series against South Africa. This has emphasized different coaching strategies for white-ball and red-ball cricket.
Pakistan’s upcoming schedule
Pakistan team has to participate in many important matches in the coming months. From November 24 to December 5, the team will play three ODIs and three T20 matches against Zimbabwe. After this, there will be another white-ball series in South Africa from 10 December to 22 December.
