PM’s gift to the villagers of Delhi, the way is clear for getting ownership rights on ancestral land

Delhi News Today: The farmers of Delhi’s urbanised villages were troubled for a long time by the strange rules and regulations regarding the ban on mutation of ancestral lands. They were constantly requesting the Lieutenant Governor and the Delhi government to find a solution to this problem in their 11 demands.

Now, this major problem of theirs has been solved with the announcement made by the Lieutenant Governor on the occasion of PM Modi’s birthday on Tuesday (September 17), which has brought relief to about two lakh farmers of 100 urbanized villages.

This has cleared the way for farmers of urbanised villages to get ancestral ownership rights on agricultural land. Farmers of about 100 villages in North, North-West and West Delhi were facing the maximum brunt of stopping mutation of agricultural land.

Millions of people got big relief
Delhi LG VK Saxena announced this on Tuesday during a program organized at DDA Ground in Mangolpuri Industrial Area Phase-I. Under this, instructions were given to register the ownership of agricultural land in the urbanized villages of the capital on the basis of succession.

This has brought great relief to lakhs of people who have been struggling for a long time. LG said that now mutation will be done in Delhi on the basis of inheritance like before. The work of which will start in 12 villages from this Friday. For this, camps will be set up in the villages by the administration.

Birthday gift to PM
LG VK Saxena apologized for the inconvenience caused to farmers due to the stoppage of mutation of agricultural land since 2010 and said, “This work should have been done long ago.” LG said, “Today, Tuesday, is PM Modi’s birthday, this day will be remembered as a special day for the villages of Delhi.”

He said that now the revenue officers will do the mutation on the basis of inheritance of agricultural land in the urbanized villages of Delhi, as was done earlier. He has come among them in this program only after signing the related order.

Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena said that it was very unfortunate that after the death of a poor farmer, his children were not able to get the land registered in their name. For this, they had to run from pillar to post.

‘Mutation camps will be set up in the village itself’
The Lieutenant Governor said that this work should have been done long ago, but now they will not have to face this problem and camps for mutation will be set up in their village itself which will be under the supervision of DM and SDM. He also requested the MPs to inspect the camp regularly.

On this occasion, the LG laid the foundation stone of 41 new projects in 18 villages of North-West Delhi under the ‘Delhi Gramodaya Abhiyan’ and inaugurated seven projects. He also inaugurated the ‘Namo Drone Didi Yojana’ and domestic PNG in 21 villages of North-West Delhi.

On this occasion, apart from MPs Manoj Tiwari, Yogendra Chandolia, Bansuri Swaraj, Ramveer Singh Bidhuri and Kamaljeet Sehrawat, Delhi Chief Secretary Dharmendra, DDA Vice President Subhashish Panda and other senior administrative officials were also present.

Expressed happiness over LG’s decision
Let us tell you, on 15th September, thousands of villagers of Delhi rural area held a Maha Panchayat at Jantar Mantar and appealed to LG and Delhi government to solve their problems. This included the issue of stalled mutation of agricultural land. The villagers gave 15 days time to the government, after which they warned the government of a big scale agitation.

Expressing happiness over LG’s announcement of restarting the process of mutation of ancestral land, Palam 360 Khap chief Surendra Solanki said that more than two lakh farmers have got relief from the Lieutenant Governor’s announcement. After this announcement, six issues being raised by us are yet to be resolved. Our agitation will continue till these issues are resolved.
