Punjab Kings beat Delhi Capitals by 31 runs, great performance by Prabhsimran-Harpreet

DC vs PBKS, Match Highlights, IPL 2023: The 59th match of IPL 2023 was played between Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings on Saturday. In this match played at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium, David Warner won the toss and decided to bowl first. Batting first, Punjab scored 167 runs losing 7 wickets in 20 overs. Prabhsimran Singh scored a brilliant century. In response, the Delhi team could only score 136 runs in 20 overs losing 8 wickets. Punjab won the match by 31 runs.

Chasing the target of 168 runs, Delhi got off to a great start. Delhi did not lose any wicket in the powerplay. After this the spinners of Punjab wreaked havoc. Delhi got the first blow on the second ball of the 7th over. Harpreet Brar bowled opener Philip Salt. Salt scored 21 runs in 17 balls. On the second ball of the very next over, Rahul Rahul got Mitchell Marsh out LBW. Marsh scored 3 runs off 4 balls.

Delhi’s third wicket fell on the first ball of the 9th over. Harpreet Brar got Riley Rossouw caught out by Raza. Rosav scored 5 runs in 5 balls. On the last ball of this over, Brar gave Punjab the fourth success. He got David Warner out lbw. The Delhi captain played an inning of 54 runs off 27 balls. During this, he hit 10 fours and 1 six.

On the first ball of the 10th over, Rahul Chahar showed the way to the pavilion to in-form Akshar Patel. Chahar got Patel out lbw. The all-rounder scored 1 run off 2 balls. After this, Delhi’s wicket also fell on the first ball of the 11th over. Manish Pandey bowled by Harpreet Brar. Pandey could not even open the account, he faced 3 balls. On the second ball of the second over, Ishant Sharma got Punjab captain Shikhar Dhawan caught out by Rousseau. Gabbar scored 7 runs in 5 balls. On the first ball of the 5th over, Ishant gave the second blow to Hyderabad. The fast bowler bowled Liam Livingstone. Livingstone played an inning of 4 runs in 5 balls. In the very next over, Akshar Patel gave Delhi the third success. He bowled wicket-keeper batsman Jitesh Sharma. Sharma scored 5 runs in 5 balls.

Karan was caught out in the 15th over. He scored 20 runs in 24 balls. Praveen Dubey gave success to Delhi. After this, Harpreet Brar returned to the pavilion on the first ball of the 17th over. He scored 2 runs in 5 balls. Kuldeep Yadav gave Delhi the 5th success. Prabhsimran Singh was dismissed on the second ball of the 19th over. The opener scored 103 runs off 65 balls. Mukesh Kumar bowled him. Shahrukh Khan was run out on the score of 2. Sikandar Raza remained unbeaten after scoring 11 runs in 7 balls.
