IMD Weather Forecast: Monsoon has changed again in many parts of the country including North India. According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rains are expected in Gujarat, Maharashtra and coastal Andhra Pradesh for the next three days. After getting relief from the heavy rains for the last few days, it rained again in Mumbai on Thursday (5 September 2024), after which the IMD has issued a yellow alert in the city. According to the Meteorological Department, light to moderate rains may occur in Mumbai and Thane till Friday (6 September 2024). Due to the rain on Thursday, light waterlogging was seen in low-lying areas of the city and many residential areas.
Heavy rain expected in Maharashtra-Gujarat
According to the Meteorological Department, Gujarat, coastal Andhra Pradesh, parts of Maharashtra, eastern Rajasthan and Uttarakhand are likely to receive heavy rains during the next three days. After this, the rainfall in these areas will decrease. The Meteorological Department has also predicted rain in the northeastern states. According to the IMD, heavy rains are expected at different places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura on September 11. Apart from this, heavy rains are expected in Assam-Meghalaya on September 7 and in Odisha on September 8.
Chances of rain in Delhi-Rajasthan
According to the Meteorological Department, Delhi will remain cloudy on Friday and there are chances of rain in some areas during the day. Apart from this, there is a possibility of light rain in the entire NCR including Delhi on September 8 and then the sky will remain clear for two days after that. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, the AQI may remain around 60 on Friday. In the last 24 hours, heavy rain occurred in many districts of Rajasthan including Jodhpur-Barmer. On Friday, light to moderate rain may occur in Bharatpur, Jaipur, Vaimadhopur, Karauli, Bhilwara, Tonk, Jodhpur and Barmer.
There is a chance of rain here during the next week
According to the IMD, there is a possibility of scattered to moderate rain in Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan by the end of this week. Talking about the 10-day weather forecast for Delhi, the city will remain cloudy till September 14. During this time, there will be rain and thundershowers at some places.
