Puran has taken charge of Lucknow several times during IPL 2024 in the absence of KL Rahul. Puran was the vice-captain of Lucknow in IPL 2024. In this context, Lucknow team can make Puran the captain. However, official information about Puran or Pant becoming the captain is yet to come.

Nicholas Pooran’s IPL career

It is noteworthy that Puran started playing IPL from 2019. He made his debut in the tournament while playing for Punjab Kings. Then in 2022 he was a part of Sunrisers Hyderabad. After this, in 2023 he is present with Lucknow Super Giants. Puran has played 76 IPL matches so far. Batting in 73 innings of these matches, he has scored 1769 runs at an average of 32.16 and strike rate of 162.29. During this period, he has scored 9 half-centuries, in which the high score was 77 runs.
