‘The person who pointed out 38 errors in the Quran is very intelligent, only I could answer it’, said Zakir Naik

Islamic preacher Zakir Naik, while talking about one of his 24-year-old debates, said that Nobel Prize winner William Campbell seemed the most intelligent to him. He also talked about Hindu religious leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. He said that when the debate took place with Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, religious leader Ravi Shankar was very famous. He was so popular that 2-3 lakh people used to come to his satsang.

On a YouTube channel, Zakir Naik was asked questions about his debates of the 2000s. He was asked who he thought was the most intelligent among his competitors. In response to this, he said that the most popular person among all the people with whom he has debated so far was Sri Sri Ravishankar. He said that he alone could gather 2-3 lakh people in his gathering, such was his popularity. He said, ‘At that time, Sri Sri Ravishankar was number one among Hindu religious leaders, now he has come down. He was popular, but not the most intelligent.’

Zakir Naik named Nobel Prize winner William Campbell as the most intelligent competitor. He said that William was not a very good speaker, but he had done very good research for the debate. He said that the most famous book on Quran and Science was The Quran and Modern Science by Maurice Buchel. William Campbell wrote the answer to it – The Quran and Bible in the Light of Science. He said that whatever William Campbell said about Quran in the debate, any person having knowledge of science would have accepted it. He said that no one responded to his book for 7-8 years, but when he responded in the debate, a doctor from Saudi Arabia was very impressed by him.

Zakir Naik told that once he met a Saudi doctor in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and he said that he was longing to meet Naik. The doctor saw his debate with William Campbell and was very happy to hear what he said. Zakir Naik told, ‘The doctor said that my nature is such that I was a fan of Ahmed Deedat, but I could not watch Deedat’s video and debate together. I could not watch it for more than half an hour. Once I went to my friend’s house and he played the video of your debate with Campbell.’

Zakir Naik said that the doctor said that in the first half hour Campbell was talking and pointing out the flaws in the Quran, on which the doctor also felt that he had read this in the medical book and this is a mistake. After that when Zakir Naik came, the Saudi doctor seeing him said that Campbell is finding so many mistakes in the Quran. All this has been read in the medical book and who is this young man to answer this, Dr. Zakir Naik, he is a sellout. Zakir Naik told that he was not so famous at that time, so the doctor did not know him, but then the Saudi doctor became very happy after hearing his answer.

Zakir Naik said, ‘This means that a Saudi Muslim doctor is saying that he does not have an answer to Campbell’s statements. The common Muslim does not understand this much, he will find Campbell’s statements nonsense because we are Muslims and there cannot be any mistake in the Quran, this is our faith. But the criticism that Campbell made about the Quran, most of the people who have knowledge of science will agree with this criticism, it is a different matter that you have the skill of debate and there is an answer to it. That is why for 7-8 years no Muslim came up with an answer to this.’

Zakir Naik told that apart from defending the Bible in William Campbell’s book, he also pointed out about 38 scientific errors in the Quran and this book was very famous in America, Canada and Western countries. For 7-8 years no Muslim responded to it, so Zakir Naik got an invitation from the US and Canada to respond to it. Zakir Naik said that this book was written in the 90s and the invitation came in 1997. The debate was to be held in Canada in 1998, but it was postponed to 2000. He said that the debate was organized in Chicago in the year 2000.
