accused in custody
The police officer said that efforts are being made to trace the person who made the call. The officer said that when an attempt was made to trace the location of the caller, his location was shown near CSMT. The accused has been taken into custody by the GRP. The investigation is on as to why the accused Sachin Shinde gave such a threat and what was the motive behind it.
This is not the first time such a threat has been made. In the month of June last year, more than 50 hospitals, colleges and BMC headquarters in Mumbai were threatened with bombing. This threat was received via email. The sender of the email claimed that bombs have been planted under beds and in bathrooms in hospitals. When the police investigated the BMC headquarters, nothing suspicious was found.
In June itself, a bomb threat was made to a hospital in Mira Road, Mumbai. After this, the police had barricaded the area. Apart from Mumbai, bomb threat emails/calls were received in Delhi, Bihar, UP and some other states in the past few days.
