Rahul Gandhi on Sikhs: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is being targeted by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in India because of his speeches during his US tour. BJP leaders are constantly criticizing his statements and attacking him. Meanwhile, a BJP leader has even threatened to drag Rahul Gandhi to court.
BJP national spokesperson RP Singh has said on Rahul Gandhi’s statement about Sikhs, “3000 Sikhs were massacred in Delhi, their turbans were removed, their hair was cut and their beards were shaved off. He (Rahul Gandhi) does not say that this happened when they (Congress) were in power. I challenge Rahul Gandhi to repeat in India what he is saying about Sikhs… I will file a case against him. I will drag him to court.”
What did Rahul Gandhi say?
In fact, while addressing the people of Indian origin in Virginia, Rahul Gandhi had said that first of all you have to understand what the fight is about. The fight is not about politics… it is superficial. What is your name? The fight is about whether… as a Sikh, he will be allowed to wear a turban in India or as a Sikh, he will be allowed to wear a Kada in India… or whether a Sikh will be able to go to the Gurudwara. In real terms, the fight is about this and not just for them, but for all religions.
Many BJP leaders have attacked Rahul Gandhi
Let us tell you that Rahul Gandhi is on a three-day visit to America. There he is meeting people of Indian origin and addressing them. Rahul has also attacked BJP, RSS and Modi government a lot there. Many senior BJP leaders and Union Ministers have attacked him over this.
