Himachal Pradesh Floods: Kangana Ranaut, BJP MP from Mandi seat of Himachal Pradesh, often remains in the headlines due to her statements. From Parliament to the road, she is talking about improving the conditions of Mandi. Recently, the BJP MP said something about the Mandi region, knowing which everyone will praise her.

Actually, in an interview given to PTI, Kangana Ranaut was asked that if you had any superpower, what would you like to change? In response to this, Kangana said, “I would like to change the flood in my constituency. It is coming every year and causing a lot of destruction. I would like to pray to God to stop the flood. We should have the right amount of rain and please stop the flood. No more floods.” Mandi also recently faced a severe flood, due to which there was a lot of damage there.

Kangana Ranaut met the flood victims

In early August, several districts in Himachal Pradesh were hit by severe floods. Mandi was also among those areas where the tragedy of natural disaster was witnessed. Kangana, who represents Mandi, met the flood victims. She was also seen embracing the victims and consoling them. Kangana Ranaut said during the meeting that a heart-wrenching tragedy has been witnessed here. People have lost their entire families including children. People are very scared and are in shock. The Himachal government should immediately provide financial assistance to the affected families.

What is the current situation in Himachal and Mandi?

Due to floods and rains, life in Himachal Pradesh and Mandi has been disrupted a lot. Landslides are still happening at many places, due to which the roads are closed. Currently, 40 roads in Himachal are closed for traffic. In Mandi alone, 12 roads have been closed after landslides. 10 roads are closed in Kangra, 9 in Kullu, 5 in Shimla and one each in Una, Sirmaur, Chamba and Lahaul-Spiti. Five electricity and 19 water supply schemes have also been affected in Himachal.

How much damage has Himachal suffered due to the floods?

Himachal Pradesh has suffered a lot of damage due to natural disasters like floods in the last few years. According to PTI, the State Emergency Operations Center has said that the monsoon started on June 27 and 150 people have lost their lives in rain-related incidents in the last two months. Himachal Pradesh has also suffered a loss of Rs 1265 crore due to floods and rains.
