What will CM Revanth Reddy demand from the Central Government for Gen-Z? disclosed in the rally

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy addressed the candle light rally organized on Saturday (July 25, 2026) regarding the NEET paper leak issue. During this time he Prime Minister Narendra Modi Pointing to the claim that the Gen-Z movement defeated the 56-inch chest and the Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan was forced to step down from his post.

Along with this, CM Revanth Reddy also stressed on increasing the participation of Gen-Z in Parliament. He said that the state government will soon call a special session of the assembly. A resolution will be passed in this session, in which the Central Government will be demanded to reduce the minimum age for contesting Lok Sabha and Assembly elections to 21 years.

Gen-G’s share in Lok Sabha is less than one percent – Revanth Reddy

Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Said, ‘We will call a special session of the Assembly and Legislative Council in the first week of August. We will discuss in the Assembly and pass a proposal to increase the minimum age for contesting elections as MLA and MP to 21 years and send it to the Prime Minister. He said, ‘Gen-Z’s share in the country’s population is 30 percent, but their representation in the Lok Sabha is less than one percent. If youth above 21 years of age become ministers, the future of the country will change.

He suggested amending the Constitution to give 21 year old youth the opportunity to contest elections as MLAs and MPs. Giving examples, he said that in Germany and Britain an 18 year old youth can become the Prime Minister and President and in Singapore a 21 year old person can become the Prime Minister, then why can’t he become the Prime Minister in our country?

If Rahul Gandhi becomes PM, he will take this responsibility- Revanth Reddy

CM Reddy said, ‘If Rahul Gandhi becomes the Prime Minister, he will take the responsibility of ensuring that a Gen-Z leader becomes the Union Education Minister. I will talk to INDIA alliance and meet leaders of every party that these people should not just return home after raising their voice on the streets. These youth should go to Parliament and convey the voice of Gen-Z to the whole world.

He said that 21 year old youth are eligible to become IAS and IPS officers as well as mayor and district council president. Recalling the old reforms, he said that former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi had reduced the minimum voting age from 21 to 18 years, while former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao had allowed 21-year-old youth to contest the elections of Mayor and District Council President.

The Chief Minister further said that the Congress, under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi and AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge, will raise in Parliament the demand for withdrawal of cases registered against students and youth during the NEET movement. Besides, they will also demand compensation for the families of those who committed suicide after the paper leak.
