Gujarat had played a big bet

On one hand, Gujarat Titans, due to their stubbornness, had forced KKR to bid Rs 24.75 crore on Mitchell Starc. Whereas the price of the most expensive player bought by Gujarat in the IPL 2024 auction was much less than Starc. The most expensive player bought by GT was Spencer Johnson, on whom Gujarat had bid Rs 10 crore.

Well, before the IPL 2025 mega auction, KKR has released Starc. Since Kolkata has used all its 6 retentions, it does not even have the option of using the Right to Match card on Mitchell Starc. This time the teams will have a lot of money left in their purse, so there are chances that the amount received by the most expensive player in the mega auction may go above Rs 24.75 crore.
