How many athletes is India sending?

Last time, India sent a total of 54 athletes to the Tokyo Paralympics, who participated in a total of 9 sports. This time, the Indian team includes a total of 84 athletes, who will be vying for medals in a total of 12 sports. Last time, India performed its best in the history of Paralympics by winning 19 medals and this time that record is expected to be broken.

India’s para javelin throw star Sumit Antil and shot put athlete Bhagyashree Jadhav will be seen as flag bearers in the opening ceremony. Sumit was the gold medalist in the men’s F64 category javelin throw competition last time. Bhagyashree has been a silver medalist in the 2022 Asian Para Games.
