Rajasthan Congress News: The stir has increased once again in Rajasthan Congress. The party high command had recently announced to fight unitedly in the upcoming elections, claiming to have resolved the differences between the two veteran leaders of the state, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and former deputy CM Sachin Pilot. Meanwhile, the tension of the Congress may increase due to the ongoing speculation about Sachin Pilot in the political corridors. Big things related to this political event…
1. Amid speculation about the next step of former Rajasthan Deputy CM Sachin Pilot, sources close to him told news agency PTI on Tuesday that he is adamant about his demands and is waiting for the Congress high command’s decision.
2. Some media reports have claimed that Sachin Pilot may form a separate party on 11 June. However, sources close to him say that at present, his full attention is on the demands, which he has been raising continuously for the last few months.
3. There is speculation that Pilot may give a clear indication about his future on his father’s death anniversary in Dausa on June 11. A source close to him said that he (Pilot) is waiting for the reaction of the party leadership, the ball is in his court. The program is organized every year on the death anniversary of Sachin Pilot’s father Rajesh Pilot.
4. Sachin Pilot’s main demands include the dissolution and reconstitution of the Rajasthan Public Service Commission, compensation to youths affected by the paper leak of government exams, and an inquiry into allegations of corruption against the previous BJP government led by Vasundhara Raje. Regarding these demands, Pilot had recently staged a one-day dharna against the state government and then also took out a foot march.
5. Sources also claimed that Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot had a meeting with party chief Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi last week, but there was no resolution to the core issues between the two stalwarts of Rajasthan.
6. When asked about reports related to the possibility of forming a new party, a source close to Pilot said that the Congress is waiting for the leadership’s decision on the issues raised by Pilot. On the other hand, Rajasthan’s Minister of State for Agriculture Murari Lal Meena, who is considered close to Pilot, said that there is no merit in the fact that Pilot is going to form a new party. He said that I do not know from where this speculation has started, there is no substance in it.
7. On the speculation of Sachin Pilot announcing a new party, Rajasthan Congress in-charge Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa said that I am hearing this from you. I think there is nothing like that. They didn’t want it before and don’t want it now.
8. On May 29, after a marathon meeting of party president Mallikarjun Kharge and former president Rahul Gandhi with Gehlot and Pilot, the Congress had said that the two leaders have agreed to contest the upcoming assembly elections unitedly. The high command will resolve the issues between them.
9. Both the leaders were seen smiling then. Party’s organization general secretary KC Venugopal had also said that Gehlot and Pilot have agreed to the party’s proposal. However, he did not give further details about this.
10. Significantly, since the formation of the Congress government in the state in 2018, the deadlock between Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot continues. Last year, during the election of the Congress President, the differences between the two came to the fore. When Ashok Gehlot termed Pilot as a traitor, Pilot also retaliated.
