Foxconn India currently has about 48 thousand employees. Apart from this, the company has included 25 percent married women in the new recruitments.
Foxconn is giving more and more opportunities to women
Young Liu said that we are giving more and more opportunities to women in Foxconn. We want them to work in big and important positions in the company. Many women employees working in our company are highly educated. We want to provide them all the opportunities to move forward. We do not want to give women only the responsibility of the assembly line. Foxconn is trying to include more and more women in the design and technology team as well.
In India Factory, 70% are women and 30% are men
About 70 percent women and 30 percent men work in Foxconn’s India factory. The company recently inaugurated a residential complex for women employees. This complex has been built in Sriperumbudur near Chennai. About 18 thousand women working in Foxconn will be able to live together here. This complex has been built by the State Industrial Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu (SIPCOT).
Investment of 25 thousand crores in Karnataka, 40 thousand jobs will be created
During the inauguration of this complex, Young Liu had said that his company does not discriminate between men and women. The company is also going to start its largest mobile manufacturing plant outside China in Karnataka. The company is going to invest about 25 thousand crores rupees on this plant. This plant will create 40 thousand jobs. Last week he had said that he is discussing with the Tamil Nadu government to set up a battery energy storage system unit. Apart from this, the company has also formed a joint venture to set up a semiconductor plant in India.
