12 candidates secured more than 50 thousand votes, DK Shivkumar of Congress is also in the list


Karnataka Election Result 2023: karnataka assembly electionsIn these elections, 12 candidates from different political parties have crossed the mark of more than 50 votes. Congress chief DK Shivakumar is also among those candidates. He has won the state assembly elections with a margin of more than 50 thousand votes.

He defeated his nearest rival B Nagaraju of Dal-Secular by more than one lakh votes by securing 75 percent of the total votes polled in the Kanakapura assembly constituency. Shivakumar got 1,41,117 votes, while Nagaraju got 20,518 votes. BJP’s R Ashok came third by getting 19,743 votes. In three other seats, Congress candidates defeated rival BJP candidates with a margin of less than 500 votes.

Who beat whom by 50 thousand

In Gandhi Nagar, Congress’s Dinesh Gundu Rao secured 54118 votes defeating BJP’s Saptagiri Gowda AR by 105 votes. In Sringeri, Congress candidate TD Rajagouda defeated BJP candidate DN Jeevaraja by 201 votes. In Malur, KY Nanje Gowda defeated BJP’s K.S. Defeated Manjunatha Gowda by 248 votes.

These are the seats where Congress won by more than 50 thousand votes. Congress leader Laxman Sangappa Savadi won from Athani assembly constituency in Belagavi district of Mumbai-Bangalore region by a margin of 76,122 votes. Savadi polled 1,31,404 (68.34 per cent) votes, while his nearest rival, Mahesh Kumathalli of the BJP, could only poll 55,282 (28.75 per cent).

In Belgaum Rural, Congress leader Lakshmi Hebbalkar defeated BJP candidate Nagesh Manolkar by a margin of over 56,016 votes. Congress leader BZ Jameer Ahmed Khan defeated his nearest rival Bhaskar Rao of BJP by a margin of 53,953 votes in Chamarajpet, which is part of the Bengaluru Central Lok Sabha constituency. Khan got 77631 (62.22 per cent) votes.

Congress party’s Ganesh Hukkeri won the Chikkodi-Sadalga assembly seat in Mumbai Karnataka region by a margin of 78,509 votes. He has defeated BJP candidate Katti Ramesh Vishwanath by 78 thousand 509 votes. Hukkeri got 127324 (69.76 per cent) votes. Congress candidate KC Veerendra Pappi defeated BJP’s GH Thippa Reddy by 53,300 votes in Udhap Chitradurga. Pappi got 122021 votes.

Rupa Kala M of INC defeated Ashwini Sampangi of BJP by 50467 votes in Kolar Gold Fields. Rupa got 80924 votes. In Kollegal, Congress’s AR Krishnamurthy got 1,08,363 (64.59 per cent) votes, while his nearest rival BJP’s N Mahesh got 48,834 (29.11 per cent). The margin of victory was 59,519.

In Kudaligi, Congress candidate Srinivas NT got 1,04,753 (63.95 per cent) votes and his nearest rival Lokesh Nayak of BJP got 50,403 (30.77 per cent) votes. The margin of victory was 54,350 votes. In Pulakeshinagar, INC’s AC Srinivas defeated Bahujan Samaj Party’s (BSP) candidate Akanda Srinivas Murthy R by 62,133 votes in Pulakeshinagar, part of Bangalore North Lok Sabha constituency. Srinivas got 87,214 (66.72 per cent) votes, while Akanda got 25,081 (19.18 per cent).

In Sarvagananagar, Congress leader Kelachandra Joseph George defeated BJP’s Padmanabha Reddy by a margin of 55,768 votes. George got 1,18,783 (61.04 per cent) votes. Congress candidate Satish Jarkiholi defeated BJP’s Basavaraj Hundri by 57,211 votes in Yamkanmardi.

4 BJP candidates who got more than 50 thousand votes

Basavanagudi: BJP leader Ravi Subramanya L.A. won by a margin of 54,978 votes. Subramaniam secured 78,854 (61.47 per cent) votes and his nearest rival was Congress’s U.B. Venkatesh got only 23,876 (18.61 per cent) votes.

Khanapur: BJP leader Vitthal Somanna Halgekar secured 91,834 (57.04 percent) votes by defeating his nearest rival Dr. Anjali Hemant Nimbalkar of INC by a margin of 54629 votes.

Mahalaxmi Layout: BJP leader K. Gopalaiah secured 96,424 votes (60.6 percent of the total votes) defeating his nearest rival Keshavamurthy of the Congress by a margin of 51,165 votes.

Padmanabhanagar: R Ashok of BJP defeated V Raghunath Naidu of INC by a margin of 55,175 votes. Ashok got 98,750 votes, which was 61 percent of the total votes. Naidu got 43,575 votes.
