Mumbai Police: Mumbai Police has solved a 20 year old murder mystery. In the year 2003, a case of murder of a cloth merchant was registered at the Santacruz police station in Mumbai. Now after a long investigation of 20 years, finally the accused has been arrested.
In fact, in 2003, cloth merchant Deepak Rathod was murdered due to a mutual argument. Deepak’s partner Rupesh was accused of murder. After the incident, the accused Rupesh had absconded. The absconding accused was living in several states by changing his identity. Meanwhile, the accused had also got an Aadhaar card made with his fake name.
Accused came from Delhi to Mumbai
The arrested accused Rupesh is originally from Muzaffarpur in Bihar. Two decades ago, he had come from Delhi to Mumbai with a cloth merchant in connection with business, but one day during dinner, both of them got into an argument over something. After this, the accused allegedly attacked the deceased with a knife and took his life.
The accused was 22 years old at the time of the murder
When the incident was carried out, the age of the accused was 22 years. After the murder, the accused absconded even after taking an amount of one lakh 30 thousand. The absconding accused was working as a tourist guide to auto driver in places like Delhi, Gujarat etc.
After continuous investigation for 20 years, Mumbai Police finally arrested the accused. At present, the accused has been sent to police custody till June 6. Even before this, the police had come very close to the accused 14 to 15 times, but every time he used to escape by dodging the police. The police informed that the Delhi Police has also registered a case against the accused under the Arms Act.
