Ajay Rai said, “Out of the 10 seats in Uttar Pradesh, there are 5 seats where elections will be held because SP MLAs have become MPs. Only SP will contest elections on these seats and its candidates will be fielded, but Congress has claimed the seats that have become vacant due to BJP and its allies. A proposal has been made regarding these seats and sent to the central leadership. Now the national leadership will decide who will contest on which seats.”

According to Ajay Rai, Congress wants to contest elections from Bijnor’s Mirapur, Ghaziabad, Aligarh’s Khair, Prayagraj’s Phulpur and Mirzapur’s Majhawan seat. Out of these 5 seats, BJP MLAs have resigned from 3 seats, which include Ghaziabad, Phulpur and Khail seats. At the same time, Majhawan Nishad Party and RLD MLAs have resigned from Mirapur.
