All Party Meeting Over Manipur Violence: On the issue of Manipur violence, the Congress raised several questions after the all-party meeting called by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi on Saturday (June 24). Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh tweeted about the meeting and accused Prime Minister Narendra of keeping silence.
Jairam Ramesh put his points about the meeting in a tweet in a point-wise manner. He wrote, “This all-party meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi It should have been presided over by the person who has not spoken a word about Manipur in the last 50 days.
Congress told the all-party meeting just a show
Ramesh said that this meeting called by the Home Minister was termed as mere show off and formality. He alleged, “As the main opposition party, our representative Manipur’s senior most leader and 3 time elected CM Okram Ibobi Singh was not given a chance to speak representing the pain and suffering of the people of Manipur.”

Okram Ibobi was given only 7 minutes – Jairam Ramesh
Jairam Ramesh and former Chief Minister of Manipur Okram Ibobi Singh also appeared before the media and attacked the BJP. Jairam Ramesh also said here, “It is a matter of great regret that only 7 minutes were given to Okram Ibobi Singh ji out of 3 hours. Ibobi ji has been the Chief Minister of Manipur for 15 years. He was present in the meeting on behalf of the main opposition party. It is a matter of great regret and also humiliating.
On behalf of the Congress, it was said, “It would have been better if the all-party meeting was held in Imphal so that a message would go out that the pain of Manipur is the pain of the country.” There are different militant groups who have weapons. We demand that weapons be withdrawn from all militant groups without any discrimination. As long as N. Biren Singh remains the Chief Minister, there is no possibility of change in Manipur, he should resign. The Chief Minister himself has accepted that he could not handle the situation, in such a situation it is impossible for him to remain the Chief Minister.
Congress demand
1. Prime Minister Narendra Modi to break his silence on Manipur.
2. Had the Prime Minister presided over this all-party meeting and it had taken place in Imphal, a clear message would have been sent to the people of Manipur that their pain and distress is also a matter of national pain.
3. Weapons should be snatched from all the militant groups in Manipur immediately.
4. The Chief Minister of the state should be changed immediately.
5. Whatever action is taken, it should be under the constitution.
6. Consensus should be made with sensitivity after listening to everyone’s complaints.
7. On behalf of the Central Government, the availability of essential commodities should be ensured by keeping both the national highways open and safe at all times.
8. A package of relief, rehabilitation and livelihood for the affected people should be prepared without delay. The announced relief package is inadequate.
