Maharashtra Assembly Elections: Voting for the assembly elections was held in Maharashtra last Wednesday (November 20, 2024). A few hours after the voting, Deputy Chief Minister of the state Devendra Fadnavis met Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat at the Sangh headquarters in Mahal, Nagpur.
Dismissing the political implications, Devendra Fadnavis said, “Since Bhagwat was in the city, I went to meet him. It was a courtesy call,” The Times of India reported. According to the exit poll estimates after the Maharashtra election voting, the BJP-led alliance is going to get 130 to 156 seats, which is enough to form the government, but regarding the exit poll, Devendra Fadnavis said, “I am not sure about the exit poll. Does not speculate. Wait for the final results. We are confident that the Grand Alliance will get majority.”
15 minute meeting of Fadnavis and Mohan Bhagwat
Fadnavis’s nearly 15-minute meeting with the RSS chief has created curiosity among political analysts. Many people believe this to be an attempt to get the support of the Sangh for the top post. The political balance has changed with BJP being projected as the largest party in this election.
