Shahshi Tharoor On 2024 Election: The resounding victory in the Karnataka Assembly Elections 2023 has filled the Congress with enthusiasm. Congress leaders are up in spirits after the BJP brought down the southern fort and have started claiming a similar defeat for the saffron party in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Meanwhile, senior Congress leader and MP Shashi Tharoor has advised the leaders of his own party not to be too happy.
Thiruvananthapuram MP Shashi Tharoor on Saturday (June 17) said that the Congress party should not be complacent ahead of the Lok Sabha elections after defeating the BJP in Karnataka as there is a difference between state and national elections and voter mood can change. Citing the dismal performance of the Congress in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, he said that a few months before this, the Congress had won big in the assembly elections of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh.

It is important that the Congress should not be complacent, in 2018 we (Congress) not only became the single largest party in Karnataka but also won in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, the Congress leader told news agency PTI. Tharoor says that the Congress cannot assume that what worked in the state elections will work in the national elections as well.
