EC’s action on Sonia Gandhi’s statement, also asked questions to BJP, how was the campaign on the last day? big things

Karnataka Assembly Elections 2023: The noise of the ongoing campaign for the Karnataka assembly elections came to an end on Monday (May 8) evening. In this election, the BJP is trying hard to retain power, while the Congress is trying hard to defeat it. While the Janata Dal (Secular) has also put in a lot of effort to woo the voters. On Monday, the Election Commission (ECI) has also issued notices to Congress, BJP. Know the big things related to this election stir.

1. The BJP on Monday moved the Election Commission demanding action against Congress leader Sonia Gandhi and derecognition of her party for using the word sovereignty for Karnataka during the election campaign. Citing the Representation of the People Act, Tarun Chugh said that the recognition of the Congress party should be cancelled. BJP leaders Anil Baluni and Om Pathak were also included in the delegation.

2. Describing Sonia Gandhi’s statement as shocking and unacceptable, Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje, who filed the complaint, said that Sonia has violated the provisions of the Model Code of Conduct. He urged to take strict action against Sonia Gandhi. He said that this is an insult to the freedom fighters of Karnataka, who fought for India’s independence. It has been alleged in the complaint that this statement of Sonia Gandhi will lead to division on the basis of language and state.

3. On BJP’s complaint, the Election Commission asked Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge to clarify and rectify the party’s social media post on Karnataka’s sovereignty remark quoting Sonia Gandhi. The Commission said that you are requested to clarify and take corrective measures in respect of the social media post, which has been attributed to the Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP) President on the INC Twitter handle. Referring to Sonia Gandhi’s speech at the election rally on Saturday, the Congress had said in a tweet that the Congress will not allow anyone to pose a threat to the prestige, sovereignty or integrity of Karnataka.

4. The Election Commission on Monday also issued a notice to the Karnataka BJP, asking them to provide “verifiable and traceable” facts by Tuesday evening regarding a newspaper advertisement that described the Congress as the “world’s most corrupt party”. . The Congress had approached the Election Commission against the advertisement issued by the Karnataka unit of the BJP. In the high-profile campaign, there were also cases of leaders making personal attacks on each other. After which the commission had advised all the parties to take care of the language in the statement.

5. Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra did a road show in Vijaynagar, Bengaluru in view of the assembly elections. Targeting the BJP, he said that the biggest issue today is inflation. Inflation is increasing, so it is the duty of the government to give some relief to those who are facing the most burden of inflation, but BJP is known as ‘40% government’. We are very sure. I can only see the response that we have got from the public. The people of Karnataka want an end to corruption.

6. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, while making an emotional appeal to the voters for their support at an election rally in Kalaburagi, said that the people of the state can take pride in the fact that he is the president of the All India Congress Committee as the ‘son of the soil’ of the state. Citing a BJP candidate’s alleged death threat to him, he said that he is 81 years old and if anyone wants to kill him, he can kill him, but he will work for the poor till his last breath. Will continue to fight for and try to protect their interests.

7. Former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa said that Narendra Modi After becoming the Prime Minister, India became a super power in a few years. We are at 5th position now and in next 20-25 years we will be at 1st or 2nd position. Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah understood the situation of the state by conducting road shows and rallies. I am sure we will definitely win 135 seats. 100% Lingayat community is with us. Congress is trying its level best to create some problems but their objective will not be achieved. Almost all Lingayat Swamis are with us and they told me that they will support BJP.

8. Union Home Minister Amit Shah said in a conversation with ANI that I have visited all the areas of Karnataka. The trend, enthusiasm and support towards BJP in all regions is huge as compared to last election. BJP will form the government with absolute majority. He said that all I want to say is that if you want to increase the Muslim reservation from 4% to 6%, then the Congress party should make it clear that whom they will reduce. OBC, SC, ST, Lingayat or Voklinga, whom will they reduce?

9. Karnataka Congress chief DK Shivakumar countered Amit Shah’s statement and said that we do not need to learn from Amit Shah about reservation and the Constitution. It was the Congress government which gave the constitution to the country and now we are protecting it. The BJP was so sure that they would not show the face of the Prime Minister here, Amit Shah had said that Basavaraj Bommai would lead the government, but now they are saying vote for Modi. Modi ji cannot run the government here.

10. On Sonia Gandhi’s statement, BJP national president JP Nadda said that the sovereignty she has spoken is the result of the mental bankruptcy of the Congress party’s thinking. It is very condemnable and worrying to say anything and say anything for the sake of votes. She has also been an MP and is still and Kharge sahab has also been. If we talk about the sovereignty of Karnataka, it is an insult to the thousands and millions of people of Karnataka who fought for India’s independence, but they are using such words to please the people.
