President on rape and murder case of junior doctor in Kolkata Draupadi Murmu A big statement has come from him. In an interview given to news agency PTI, he said that I am very disappointed and scared. Crimes against daughters will not be tolerated. He said, enough is enough now.
On the atrocities against women, President Murmu said, enough is enough. She said, “Even when students, doctors and citizens were protesting in Kolkata, the criminals were lurking in other places.”

Expressing grief over the Kolkata incident, the President said, such atrocities against women cannot be allowed in any civilized society. Society should also be honest, fair and introspective.
President Murmu said, often people with a reprehensible mindset see women as less human, less powerful, less capable, less intelligent. No civilized society can allow such atrocities on daughters and sisters. Those who hold such views see women as an object. It is the duty of our daughters to remove the obstacles that come in the way of getting freedom from fear.
He said, “In the 12 years since Nirbhaya, society has forgotten countless rapes, this collective amnesia is not correct. Societies that are afraid to face history resort to collective amnesia; now the time has come for India to face history.”
President Draupadi Murmu said, society needs to ask itself some tough questions. No civilized society can allow such atrocities on daughters and sisters.
The doctor was raped on 9 August
A junior doctor on night duty at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital was raped on 9 August. After this, the junior doctor was brutally murdered. Injury marks were found on the doctor’s face and body. The police have arrested the accused Sanjay Roy in this case. However, due to the sluggish attitude of the police, the Calcutta High Court has handed over the investigation of this case to the CBI.
Doctors across the country had called for a strike in protest against this incident and have also raised the demand for making a law regarding the safety of doctors. Not only this, protests are being held across the country including Bengal against the Kolkata rape case.
