Maharashtra Politics: Today was the third day of political rebellion in Maharashtra’s political party NCP. Today, both the factions of NCP organized a meeting of party workers in Mumbai with the intention of showing strength.

In this meeting, according to reliable sources of ABP News, Sharad Pawar’s group claimed to have the support of 18 MLAs, while Ajit Pawar’s party is said to have the support of 32 out of 53 MLAs. The votes of the remaining 3 MLAs are yet to be received.

What does the anti-defection law say?
In such a situation, after the meeting of both the groups, this fight seems to be stuck in many aspects. The first problem in all these things is that in today’s show of strength, Ajit Pawar’s faction has not seen enough numbers.

According to the Defection Law, MLAs of any party will not have to face the Defection Law if more than 10 of them leave the party. On the other hand, in case of political rebellion in any party, the symbol and name of that party will be given to the group which will have the majority of 2/3 members. In such a situation, Ajit Pawar’s claim on NCP seems to be in danger.
