‘I accept this honor with respect…’, PM Modi’s reaction on receiving Seychelles’ highest honor

Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi Has been awarded the Guardian of the Blue Horizon Award. This is Seychelles’ biggest award. He has been given this honor as part of his efforts to promote environmental protection and sustainable development leadership, climate action and green growth.

In a letter issued by Seychelles President Dr. Patrick Hermini, it has been said that his support for small island developing countries, climate resilience, international support and management of blue economy has been appreciated. Apart from this, emphasis has been laid on the growing partnership between India and Seychelles.

Grateful to the people and Government of Seychelles as well as President Herminie for conferring upon me the ‘Guardian of the Blue Horizon.’

After this award, PM Modi has posted on X. He said that I feel very humbled to receive the Guardian of the Blue Horizon Award. I respectfully accept this honour. I dedicate this to all those countries who are struggling with the problem of climate change. Who consider protecting the environment as their responsibility towards the coming generations.

UN has also honored with Champions of the Earth Award

Earlier in May 2026, PM Modi was awarded the Agricola Medal for promoting food security, transformation in agriculture and sustainable farming. He has also been honored with the Seoul Peace Prize. In the same year, the UN honored him with the Champions of the Earth Award. This is the organization’s highest environmental honor. This honor was given to him for promoting climate action and environmental cooperation at the international level.
