Important update on Amarnath Yatra, this step was taken in view of the safety of the devotees

Amarnath Yatra 2023 News: From a massive security grid to Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tags, all measures are being taken by the Center and the Jammu and Kashmir administration to ensure the safety of the pilgrims during the Amarnath Yatra.

The Amarnath Yatra, which lasts for 62 days, has started this time from Saturday (July 1). This annual yatra is believed to be the longest yatra ever. More than three lakh devotees have already registered for this.

According to the NDTV report, the officials told that RFID tag has been made mandatory for the pilgrims in view of the security during the visit to the holy cave. The location of each devotee can be traced through the RFID tag. During bad weather conditions, the administration will be able to help the devotees by using this tag.

Massive security grid deployed for Amarnath Yatra

In view of the yatra, a huge Surashra grid has been deployed. It includes personnel from the Central Reserve Police Force, Border Security Force, Indo-Tibetan Border Police, CISF and other security agencies, apart from the army and police. Hundreds of new security bunkers have been built along the route leading to the Pahalgam and Baltal base camps and the road leading to the cave shrine. Hi-tech surveillance measures including drones are also being used.

Two groups leave for Amarnath Yatra

Let us inform that Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha flagged off the first batch of pilgrims for the yatra on Friday (June 30) morning from the Bhagwati Nagar Camp in Jammu, which includes about 3,400 devotees. The second batch of about 4,400 pilgrims was flagged off on Saturday (July 1) from the Bhagwati Nagar base camp itself. According to the news agency PTI, so far the number of pilgrims who have left for the yatra has gone up to 7,904.
