Navjot Sidhu Hugs Bikram Majithia: Navjot Singh Sidhu seems to have changed a lot. Recently, he has come out after serving 10 months in jail in the road rage case, since then a lot of change is being seen in him. Sidhu was once again seen hugging Bikram Singh Majithia, once his best friend and then enemy, on a stage.

The video of their meeting has surfaced, in which both smilingly shake hands, hug and then pat each other on the back amid thunderous applause. Many meanings are being extracted from the warm meeting of these two in relation to the politics of Punjab.

FIR was lodged against Majithia in drugs case

An FIR was registered in December 2021 against Bikram Singh Majithia in the drugs case after continuous raising of voice by Navjot Singh Sidhu. According to the information, in 2013 a drugs racket worth about Rs 6 thousand crore was busted. The main accused in the case, Jagdish Bhola, had also taken the name of Bikram Singh Majithia during interrogation. After that, the Enforcement Directorate also questioned Majithia.

In the 2022 Punjab assembly elections, Navjot Singh Sidhu and Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia were face to face from Amritsar East seat. Till this election, it was being said loudly that till date both the leaders have never seen the face of defeat in politics. Before this seat, Sidhu’s wife Navjot Kaur had been an MLA.

During the 2022 elections, Sidhu contested from this seat on a Congress ticket. During the election, Majithia had claimed that he would forfeit Sidhu’s bail. Sidhu’s wife retaliated and asked Majithia to first get his bail, then get the bail confiscated.

Majithia had called Sidhu a ‘joker’

Talking to a news channel before the elections, Bikram Singh Majithia had called Sidhu arrogant and said that people would break his pride. Majithia had said in a scathing attack, “Sidhu’s wife does not take him seriously, he is a joker (he is a joker). What will you apologize to the Joker? Those whom their family does not take seriously, those whom people do not take seriously, I also do not take them very seriously. The Congress party does not take him seriously.

Majithia had said, “When he (Sidhu) used to be with me, when he was in good company, Sidhu used to be happy. Today he is in bad company, Sidhu is sad. He was never as happy with his wife as he was with me.

AAP candidate had defeated both

Please tell that neither of the two leaders who never tasted defeat won. In the assembly elections, Aam Aadmi Party’s Jeevan Jyot Kaur defeated both of them in the election battle. Jeevan Jyot Kaur got the maximum 39,679 votes. Sidhu came second with 32,929 votes and Bikram Singh Majithia got 25,188 votes.
