Kerala Internet Services: Internet for all is now going to become a reality in Kerala as Kerala has become the first state in the country to have its own internet service. Actually, the government in the state has started the service under the name of its owned Kerala Fiber Optic Network (K-FON). If the Kerala Fiber Optic Network (KFON) is successful, then in the first phase 14,000 families of the state will be given free internet services and the rest of the population will get subsidized internet facilities.
Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan tweeted that the dream of internet access to every person in the state has come true. It is a matter of pride for the people and 20 lakh families will be given internet service through this. However, in the first phase, 14 thousand families will get this service.
These government offices are already getting internet
According to the KFON website, free internet service will be given to backward families in Kerala. Through this project, more than 17 thousand 280 government offices in Kerala are already getting free internet service connection. Apart from this, the state secretariat and 10 district collectorates are already using it.
Lastly, #Kerala has realized the dream of becoming the first state with its own internet service! It was a proud moment to dedicate #KFON to the people. It offers free internet connections to 20 lakh families, thus ending the digital divide by ensuring internet access for all. pic.twitter.com/aKXiZQaaEG
