‘Offer of Rs 20-30 crore given to our MLAs’, BJP’s reaction on Omar Abdullah’s claim

BJP has strongly retaliated to the statement of Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, in which he had said that BJP is trying to buy National Conference (NC) MLAs. The party has termed his allegations as extremely irresponsible and baseless.

BJP national spokesperson and Rajya Sabha MP Sudhanshu Trivedi, while talking to journalists, alleged that the Chief Minister is making such baseless claims to hide the failures and misgovernance of his government. Trivedi said that Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has given a very irresponsible and condemnable statement. He has made baseless allegations that BJP is trying to break the MLAs of his party.

BJP’s Jammu and Kashmir unit has strongly condemned this statement and has directly asked him to either give evidence or apologize. The BJP leader further said that the talk of breaking the leaders is actually a deliberate attempt to divert people’s attention from the poor functioning of the present government. Trivedi said, “The fact is that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has made this baseless allegation to hide the failure, inaction and misgovernance of his government in Jammu and Kashmir and to divert attention from these issues. We strongly condemn this and demand from him to either provide evidence or apologize for his statement.”

‘Instead of allegations, you should focus on your work’
Trivedi advised the National Conference leaders to stay away from political allegations and counter-allegations and focus on their administrative responsibilities. He said, “National Conference Party and Omar Abdullah should not try to avenge their failure by making such baseless allegations, but should focus on their work instead of allegations.”

What did Omar Abdullah say?
Let us tell you that Omar Abdullah on Saturday claimed without naming that BJP lured an MLA of Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) with Rs 20-30 crore and a ministerial post to switch sides. Abdullah said that the MLA rejected this proposal and informed him about it. Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Chaudhary strongly supported Omar Abdullah’s claims and alleged that the entire political foundation of BJP is based on lies.
