With the commencement of this high-speed route, there will be a major reduction in travel time between these areas. Where earlier it used to take several hours to travel long distances, now this journey will become fast, safe and convenient. Industries and traders will get direct benefits due to reduction in the cost of transportation of goods, which will provide new energy to the economy of the state.
Ganga Expressway built on PPP model
Let us tell you that Ganga Expressway has been developed on PPP (DBFOT) model, which is an example of public-private partnership. It is currently designed with 6 lanes, but considering future needs, it has been made expandable to 8 lanes. With a design speed of 120 km per hour, this expressway will ensure fast and smooth traffic. High quality construction, wide right of way and strong safety features make it one of the most modern expressways in the country.
3.2 kilometer long airstrip
A special feature of this expressway is the approximately 3.2 kilometer long airstrip built near Shahjahanpur, where Air Force aircraft can land in case of emergency. Apart from this, arrangements for Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS), CCTV surveillance, emergency call box, ambulance and patrolling have been made on the entire route. Modern equipment has been installed to ensure the speed and safety of the vehicles, which will provide a safe and comfortable travel experience to the passengers.
The biggest strength of this project is the Integrated Manufacturing and Logistics Clusters (IMLC) being developed along the Ganga Expressway. Manufacturing units, warehouse, cold storage, food processing and logistics hubs will be established in these clusters. The facilities provided by the government like capital subsidy, SGST reimbursement, stamp duty exemption, power incentive and yellow top-up are attracting investors. This will bring large scale industrial investment in the state and lakhs of youth will get employment opportunities.
Interconnected Expressway Network in UP
Ganga Expressway has been connected to other major expressways of the state (Purvanchal, Agra-LucknowBundelkhand and Gorakhpur link). This will create an interconnected expressway network in Uttar Pradesh, which will be the largest in the country. Better connectivity will not only ease the movement of people, but will also make freight transportation faster and cheaper, which will give a new impetus to the logistics sector.
Agro-based industries, markets, cold storage and warehouses will be developed on both sides of the expressway. With this, farmers will get a better market for their produce and they will get a fair price. Along with this, industrial activities will increase in backward areas.
