Maharashtra Politics: The rhetoric has intensified since the rebellion in the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) under the leadership of Ajit Pawar. Many statements have come in such a way that it is believed that the leaders of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s faction are angry with Ajit Pawar’s entry into the government.
Meanwhile, former CM Uddhav Thackeray faction leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut claimed that 17 to 18 MLAs of Shinde faction are in touch with us. He said in Mumbai, “After Ajit Pawar’s meeting with BJP and Eknath Shinde, 17 to 18 MLAs of Shinde faction have spoken to us.”
What did Sanjay Raut claim?
Raut said that Ajit Pawar and eight other NCP MLAs took oath as ministers, while none of the Shinde group MLAs took oath. He claimed that Maharashtra would soon get a new chief minister.
Shinde group’s answer
Leader of the Shinde faction and Industries Minister Uday Samant dismissed speculations about Chief Minister Shinde stepping down. He said that whatever has happened (for that) the initiative was taken by Chief Minister Shinde. Samant said that the situation has changed now. Some legislators of the Shinde faction said that the chief minister was trying to address their concerns. In such a situation, there is no need to panic.
What did the Uddhav Thackeray group say?
On the other hand, Uddhav faction leader and MP Vinayak Raut said that after NCP leader Ajit Pawar joined the Maharashtra government, the MLAs of Shinde faction have started a rebellion. He said that some MLAs of Shinde’s Shiv Sena are sending messages that they want to apologize to ‘Matoshree’.
Matoshree, located in Mumbai’s Bandra area, is the residence of Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray. Vinayak Raut said that several MLAs of Shinde have said that they will respond positively if ‘Matoshree’ approaches them.
Without naming anyone, he claimed that those who wanted to become ministers but could not become. Those who are in danger of losing their chair in the next cabinet expansion are in contact with us.
Eknath Shinde What did the group say?
Countering this, Uday Samant said that in fact six of the 13 MLAs of the Uddhav Thackeray faction are in touch with him. Three-four MLAs spoke to me only yesterday i.e. on Wednesday (July 5).
