‘The objectionable comments made about me should be removed’, Rahul Gandhi demanded from Om Birla

Rahul Gandhi Meets Om Birla: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday (December 11, 2024) said that he met Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and urged him to remove the derogatory comments against him. Earlier on December 5, BJP MPs Nishikant Dubey and Sambit Patra alleged links between Rahul Gandhi and Hungarians. Since then the Congress party has been expressing its displeasure.

Rahul Gandhi said, “I met the Speaker and said that the derogatory comments made against me should be removed. The Speaker has said that he will look into it. Our aim is that the House should function and there should be discussion in the House. They can say whatever they want about me, but we want discussion in the House. It was decided to discuss the Constitution on 13 December, this discussion should take place. Modi government does not want discussion on Adani. They want to divert the issue, but we will continue to raise the issue. They may level any number of allegations against me, but we want to run the House.”

TMC counterattacks on Rahul Gandhi

In complete contrast to Rahul Gandhi’s comment, Trinamool Congress MP Kalyan Banerjee said that the House is run according to the BJP and Congress. He alleged, “They decide how long this will continue. This is not right. BJP and Congress get more opportunity to speak. We do not get the opportunity to speak. Other political parties are suffering.”

Many parties of India alliance parted ways

Congress allies Trinamool Congress and Samajwadi Party have not participated in the opposition protests in Parliament. Since the winter session began on November 20, opposition protests have been taking place almost every day, disrupting the proceedings of both the houses. Earlier in the day on Wednesday, Rahul Gandhi and many MPs of the opposition India Alliance welcomed the BJP members in the Parliament by presenting them roses and the tricolor and also urged them to allow the proceedings of the House to continue.
