Priyanka Gandhi: Opposition leaders have expressed happiness over the Supreme Court’s ban on bulldozer action on Tuesday (September 17). Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi posted on social media platform X. Priyanka Gandhi wrote, ‘The decision of the Hon’ble Supreme Court, which shows the mirror to the unjust and inhuman ‘bulldozer policy’ of the BJP governments, is welcome. Through such barbaric actions, the policy and intention of trampling humanity and justice by “running a bulldozer on the law of the country” has been exposed in front of the whole country. They believe that under the guise of ‘instant justice’, the rule of mob and fear can be established by crushing the Constitution with the bulldozer of oppression and injustice, but this country runs by the Constitution and will run by the Constitution only. The court has made it clear that ‘bulldozer injustice’ is not acceptable.
Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinet also expressed her views on this issue. On X, Supriya Shrinet shared a video in which she said, ‘By making a big statement on the bulldozer, the Supreme Court has made one thing clear that this country will run by the Constitution, not by anarchy and brutality like bulldozers. This decision of the Supreme Court, today’s statement that no bulldozer will run until a guideline is made, this decision is a tight slap on the face of all those Chief Ministers and leaders who were promoting bulldozer justice by locking the judiciary.
‘Bulldozer is a symbol of hatred’
Supriya Shrinet said, ‘The Supreme Court has even said that bulldozers should not be glorified. Bulldozers should not be glorified because bulldozers mean that your police, your administration, everything has failed. You want to put a lock on the judiciary and that is why you run bulldozers. Bulldozers have now become a symbol of hatred, violence and political revenge. Bulldozers mean that they are used to incite a storm of hatred against a single class and a single community.’
‘No place in civil society’
Supriya Srinet said, ‘This is a good decision which we welcome and hope that after this decision, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh will not show his courage to run a bulldozer and will not challenge the Supreme Court. Bulldozers have no place in a civilized society. Bulldozers are used by goons and anarchists. Elected Chief Ministers and leaders should stay away from this.’
