‘There is a plan to save him’, says Rakesh Tikait on Delhi Police’s charge sheet against Brij Bhushan Singh

Rakesh Tikait on Delhi Police Charge Sheet: Delhi Police has filed a charge sheet on Thursday (June 15) against BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. Rakesh Tikait, leader of Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU), has expressed his reaction on this and has targeted the central government.

According to the news agency PTI, he has said that this is the government’s plan to save Brij Bhushan Singh, surrounded by allegations of sexual exploitation. He also made it clear that the Kisan Union will continue to support the wrestlers. Actually, BKU is supporting the wrestlers against the BJP leader.

What did Rakesh Tikait say?

Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait while talking to news agency PTI said, “These wrestlers have been protesting for months. What else can they do? The government saves its men… The whole plan is to save him (Brij Bhushan Singh). Wrestlers testified, protested for a month. How much more can they struggle now? They also do the work of breaking the protesters.

Putting forward his point, he said, “When BJP has taken leaders and businessmen of other parties in its fold, then these wrestlers are only children and they also have families. They will break.” Meanwhile, Rakesh Tikait also said that a big event will be organized in Uttarakhand on Friday (June 16). This program will be held till June 18 and it will be related to the farmers.

What in Delhi Police’s charge sheet?

Police has filed a charge sheet under sections 354, 354A and 354D, 506 Part-1 of IPC in the allegations leveled against Brij Bhushan Singh on behalf of adult wrestlers. At the same time, a charge sheet has also been filed against former Assistant Secretary of Wrestling Federation Vinod Tomar under sections 109, 354, 354A, 506. Along with this, the police has also filed digital evidence in the court in a pen drive.

Movement postponed after the assurance of the central government

At the same time, the central government had assured Olympic medalist wrestlers Bajrang Punia and Sakshi Malik and fellow Olympian Vinesh Phogat that the charge sheet would be filed by June 15. After this, these people had suspended their movement. The wrestlers were protesting demanding the arrest of Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh on charges of sexual harassment against 7 wrestlers, including a minor.
