New Delhi: A young man who was undergoing treatment inside a de-addiction center located in Delhi’s Sonia Vihar area was beaten to death. In this case, the police registered an offense under the section of murder and started investigation.
According to the police, investigation revealed that Anil Kumar Chauhan was admitted inside the Patti drug de-addiction center for the last 5 months. Anil had a fight with another patient inside the de-addiction center on Friday (June 2) late night. During this, he was beating the other person badly. After this, other patients intervened to stop Anil. During this, these people beat Anil badly with sticks and kick punches. After some time his health deteriorated and he was taken to the hospital, but here the doctors declared him brought dead.
What did the police say?
DCP Dr. Joy Tirkey of North East District said that the police came to know about the incident late on Friday (June 2) night. Investigation revealed that Anil Kumar Chauhan Patti, a resident of Moti Nagar, was addicted to alcohol. For this reason, his relatives got him admitted to the center for treatment.
What happened?
On Friday night around 10 pm, Anil Kumar had a fight with another person, Abhinay Kumar, who was undergoing treatment at the centre. Anil started beating Abhinay with a stick. Meanwhile, other patients who came to break the fight started beating Anil Kumar badly. After this, the employees stopped the quarrel and gave pain killer to Anil. When Anil’s health deteriorated at around 1 a.m., he was taken to LNJP Hospital, but he could not be saved.
